Brittany & Nate in Las Vegas, NV

Brittany & Nate in Las Vegas, NV
Brittany and Nate hosted a formal affair in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Photos By: Trent Black Photography
Location: The Stirling Club, Las Vegas
Brittany‘s six bridesmaids wore long black V-neck dresses.
Brittany kept things simple for their classic black-tie shindig. She chose a vintage ivory strapless Lazaro gown with a fingertip-length veil.
"Our wedding was the first in our generation on both sides, so our relatives were very excited and we made sure they felt included," explains Brittany. Photos of their parents from their wedding days were on display during the ceremony, and a second, Lithuanian-style cake paid homage to Nate‘s grandparents.
The couple‘s main cake was a four-tier creation covered with ivory fondant and gold ribbon around each layer. The bottom layer was white cake with strawberries; the second one was chocolate with raspberries, and the third was marbled with chocolate mousse. The top layer was chosen by Brittany to be a surprise for Nate when they finally eat it on their first anniversary.
After the post-college proposal, this sweetheart couple pulled off an amazing event with just nine months of planning -- and a little help from Mom.

The Groom Nathanael Rulis, 23, law student
The Date May 14

At Brittany's junior-year sorority formal, she met Nate on a date... too bad it wasn't with her. Nate was attending with one of Brittany's friends and he happened to be buddies with her date. "As it happens, the two of us got along better with one another than we did with our own dates," says Brittany. Nate spent the pre-dance dinner making fun of Brittany in the hopes of being noticed, a strategy that seemed to work since they e-mailed each other over Christmas break. "When we returned to school, we went on three dates in the first five days," remembers Brittany. Fast-forward to after graduation: After a Sunday dinner with both of their families, Nate proposed to Brittany as they walked across a golf course. "It took me a good five minutes to get my head around what he was saying," laughs Brittany. "I don't remember, but apparently I just kept saying 'Stop it! Get up! Stop it!'"
