Lisa & Michael in Las Vegas, NV

Lisa & Michael in Las Vegas, NV
A little bit of Zen garden, a splash of Ireland and an Elvis impersonator all made for Lisa and Michael's unique Vegas wedding.

Location: Siena Golf Club
It‘s not really a Vegas wedding without a hunka hunka burnin‘ love, so an Elvis impersonator in full sparkly gear surprised guests toward the end of the evening. He sang "Viva Las Vegas" and serenaded the couple with "Can‘t Help Falling In Love With You."
Lisa‘s satin Demetrios corset gown was embroidered with flowers on the bodice. Courtney Payne Jewelry designed a bridal set dubbed the "Lisa Necklace Five 300" specifically for the bride. The set included a center silver piece that Payne created to mimic the rhinestone clusters of Lisa‘s tiara and a drop necklace. accented the embroidered floral satin corset bodice on her Demetrios gown.
Guests received double the goodies. The first favor was a treasure box filled with goodies like feng shui candles, painted chopsticks and mini sake glasses. Round two: personalized orange spice soaps wrapped in clear cello bags.
The couple chose a favorite restaurant, The Siena Bistro, as the setting for their wedding. The ceremony took place at sunset in a lakeside altar. In a nod to Michael‘s proposal, a trio played selections from "The Phantom of the Opera" and their officiant and friend read letters the couple had written to each other.
"The cake was a showpiece with a small flowing fountain that bled of pink waterfalls underneath the three column layers," says Lisa.
There is nothing ordinary about Las Vegas and there was nothing ordinary about the wedding of fun-loving couple Lisa Olen and Michael Tobin, who put on a party to rival anything found on The Strip.

In a time before e-mail, Lisa and Michael were pen pals -- the old-fashioned kind, on paper. At age 13, a mutual friend put them in touch and they began writing kid-like love letters. The began a lasting friendship and saw their puppy love blossom into adult affection. For Lisa, a Broadway musical fanatic, a trip to New York City was a dream come true. But then it got better: After seeing The Phantom of the Opera, Michael asked for her hand in marriage.
